Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Infectious Diseases (CDC/NCID), USA
The mission of NCID is to prevent illness, disability, and death caused by infectious diseases in the United States and around the world. Its activities encompass multiple priority disease-prevention areas. NCID staff members work in partnership with local and state public health officials, other federal agencies, medical and public health professional associations, infectious disease experts from academic and clinical practice, and international and public service organizations. They accomplish their mission by conducting surveillance, epidemic investigations, epidemiologic and laboratory research, training, and public education programs to develop, evaluate, and promote prevention and control strategies for infectious diseases.
National Institutes of Health / National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) (USA)

- Division of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (DAIDS)
- Division of Allergy, Immunology and Transplantation (DAIT)
- Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (DMID)
- Division of Intramural Research (DIR)
International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID)
