Central America: The Central American Network for the Prevention and Control of Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Diseases (RECACER) functions within the political framework of the Central American Economic and Social System (SICA). It is a dynamic forum for the management of surveillance and disease control standards and/or protocols, the preparation of plans of action, and the exchange of information among the participating countries in order to coordinate activities for the prevention and control of epidemics.
